JHIKARGACHA DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (JDO)

Jhikargacha Development Organization (JDO) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to empowering marginalized individuals. Founded in 1997 by Md. Moniruzzaman Monir, JDO has focused on building a just, inclusive, and sustainable society.

WORKING STRATEGY OF THE ORGANIZATION...

The organization’s strategy will be based on the organization’s
constitution and principles of equity, trust, dignity, participation of
target communities, and collaboration with the support of public and
private organizations at the local national international levels.

Group Formation, Savings and Income Generating Programmes.
Community health care (preventive and curative) and natural family
planning programs.
Maternal and Child Health Development Programme
HIV/AIDS Prevention Programme.
Climate Change Risk Mitigation Program
Safe Water and Sanitation Programme.
Education programs, especially adult child education
Training, seminars, and workshops.
Gender Relations and Development Programme.
Integrated Agriculture Programme (Social Forestry, Safe Vegetable
Gardening, and Nutrition Education Monitoring Programme)
Observance of international and national days.
Prevention of disability development programs.
Protection of human rights of all backward communities
Prevention of sexual exploitation, sexual torture, eviction, child
marriage, trafficking of women and children.

STRUCTURE OF JDO

The JDO General Committee (GC) is composed of 21
members.Every two years, the General Committee
members elect seven individuals to the Executive
Committee (EC). The EC, with the consultation of the
Governing Committee, is responsible for all organizational
work. The Advisory Committee comprises five elite
members of society and provides advice to the Executive
Director and the EC for the development of the
organization.

understanding who reports to whom and how information flows within a
JHIKARGACHA DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (JDO).

NETWORK/ FORUM/ CONSORTIUMS....

JDO believes in the power of collective efforts to facilitate integrated and dynamic
development. This approach has gradually strengthened natural cooperation and
relationships between JDO, government agencies, and other local donors, as they
implement various development projects. The organization has established a good
relationship with the local administration of Bangladesh and has successfully implemented
various projects. JDO also maintains good working relationships with local donors such as
NGO Forum, ALRD, ADAB, NFOWD, BS, CDD, BARC, and NGO Foundation, as well as
international donors who provide necessary technical support whenever required.
